The U.S. Supreme Court

I have had previous knowledge when it comes to the law and a little bit of the Supreme Court system because I have been in a law and justice class before and have gone to courtrooms For what lawyers do for what the judges have to do but that's just at the trial level. And I haven't been able to really research the Supreme Court system in how they work.

After watching the videos part one and part two about the Supreme Justice system I have gained some new knowledge about the Supreme Court system. There are some things about the Supreme Court system that I didn't really think about until it was brought to my attention after these videos. These videos talk about what the Supreme Court system does and the point of view of one of the judges who has been appointed to be in the Supreme Court system.

One thing I didn't think about with the Supreme Court system is the judges who are part of it have to get used to how much power they have and how big their job is because they're they are the last system for certain cases to go through which talk about if the trial before was constitutional or did the lower court apply the law correctly.

Even though I was not aware of how long the judges in the Supreme Court actually stay I'm not surprised by that fact because of how much power they have. Being a judge in the Supreme Court system is such a big role I could see why judges would stay there for at least more than a decade. The average being 16 years with some actually going for twice as long makes sense for the power of the role. These are people who are not just placed in this role but are appointed by presidents who believe that they have the skills to make these decisions.
